Tips to Draw Better - Activity 2.1
Have your engineering notebook out while you watch this video. Try to apply some of the techniques you see in this video while you watch it. THIS WILL HELP YOU SO MUCH IN THIS UNIT! |
How to Shade - Activity 2.1
Oblique, Isometric and Point Perspective Drawing
Activity 2.1 - Day 2 What are the differences between Oblique and Isometric Drawings? How do 1 point and 2 point perspective drawings differ? Why do you think you would use one of the other? Explain. |
Isometric Sketches - Sketching Arcs
As you watch this video, note how he sets up his corner points to create the object, and how it can help you with your basic boxes. From there, he talks about how to draw isometric arcs. In class today we will continue working on isometric sketching, including a lesson on how to draw isometric circles |
How to Draw with One Point Perspective - Activity 2.2
Have your engineering notebook out while you watch this video. Try to apply some of the techniques you see in this video while you watch it. Find an object close by and try to create a one point perspective drawing. Graph paper is on the bookshelf. |
Two Point Perspective Drawing - Activity 2.2 - Day 2
Have your engineering notebook out while you watch this video. Try to apply some of the techniques you see in this video while you watch it. Find an object close by and try to create a two point perspective drawing. Graph paper is on the bookshelf. |
Engineering Line Types - Activity 2.1
In this video you will see a variety of line types, each with thier own meaning in a technical drawing. While we will look at several more than what are shown in this video, the ones covered here are the most common and most important for our work. In your engineering notebook, start building a list of line types |
Multi-view Sketching - Activity 2.3
Have your engineering notebook out while you watch this video. Try to apply some of the techniques you see in this video while you watch it. |
Missing Views - Activity 2.3
As we work towards creating sets of multiview drawings, drawing a missing view helps build up important skills, in particular how to use the miter line and keeping out drawings in line with one another. Take notes on the steps that he works though, and keep in mind a 4th step would be to draw in any missing lines your object may have. |
Multi-view Sketching #1 - Activity 2.4
Watch this video and take a few notes. We will go over this same activity in today's lesson. This video will help you to complete your activity. |
Sketching Practice - Activity 2.5
Watch this video and take a few notes. We will go over this same activity in today's lesson. This video will help you to complete your activity. |
Activity 2.1.4 Beginning Orthographic Projections
As we start to work with more complex orthographic views, this video offers some extra tips on drawing them well. Consider how she distinguishes the views in the isometric drawing as the shapes are drawn. Also consider her notes on selecting the best front view. |
Free hand sketch to 3D models
Watch the video and note the design process the designer goes though. As we more forward in this class, we'll be developing projects that go from pencil and paper brainstorming to 3D modeling and technical documentation. After watching this video, do at least 2 rounds of vocabulary practice to prepare for our Unit 2 Exam |
Activity 2.3 - The Glass Box
While this video is more of a solid form around a 3d object, the ideas are very similar: 1) Orthographic projection to take corner points to the plane of projections 2) Transfer the edges between the points 3) Complete for all 6 sides 4) Consider any hidden lines from edges visible from the opposite side For Activity 2.3, all 6 sides of the glass box can be unfolded and copied onto graph paper/ your engineering notebooks |
Introduction to Inventor - Activity 2.5 - Day 2
Watch this video and take a few notes. We will go over this same activity in today's lesson. All of your hard work sketching to about to pay off, It's time to get into INVENTOR!!! |
