Inventor Shapes - Activity 5.1
Watch the Shapes video and then identify as many Geometric Shapes as you can. What would it take to create some of these shapes in Inventor? |
5.1 Compound Shapes
Today we're going to be doing a quick review of area and perimeter of geometric shapes, and while the powerpoint will not go into detail about compound shapes, it's also worth a quick review. Keep in mind that while this video uses basic shapes, it is possible that we use curved surfaces including full and half circles. |
Geometric Constraints - Activity 5.2a
Watch the video and take notes. Today you will be making a drawing with many geometric constraints in it. |
Optional Project - Modeling Fidget Spinners
I know a few of you were interesting in how to make fidget spinners. This video approaches it similarly to how I made mine, and can help you become familiar with the geometric constraints and some of the new commands we've learned in Inventor. If you are hoping to 3D print one of yourself, the skateboard ball bearings have a diameter of 22mm and are 7mm thick. |
Passenger Base Part 1 - Activity 5.2b
Use the following video the begin the passenger base part of your T9 Car. This video will help you layout your basic shapes and teach you location dimensions |
Passenger Base Part 2 - Activity 5.2b
Use the following video the complete the passenger base part of your T9 Car. This video will help you layout your polygon and teach you how to use construction lines as references. |
Tolerances and Fits - Activity 7.3
Takes notes on What is Tolerances, and the list of 3 types of fits that result the tolerances of two materials and their assemblies |
Using a Triple Beam Balance
As we have learned their are two ways to measure you Automoblox parts. Yesterday we watched a video on using iProperties in Inventor. Today's video is a review on the proper use of the Triple Beam Balance. |
Measuring Irregular Solids - Activity 5.3
Today we will be measuring objects of both regular and irregular shapes. Watch the video, you will need this information for your activity. |
Surface Area vs. Volume Activity 5.4
Today we're going to talk about surface area and volume measurements. While we touched on volume with density calculations, there is a need to look at surface area as well. In your notebooks answer the following questions: What are some reasons we would want volume measurements. What are some reasons we would want to measure surface area? |
Mass Properties - Activity 5.4
Today we will be Inventor to measure the properties of you Automoblox parts. We will be determining their, Volume, Density, and Mass Today's video will help you with the lesson and the activity Watch carefully and take basic notes. |
Material and Physics - Activity 5.6
Today we will continue to use Inventor to measure the properties of you Automoblox parts. We will be determining their, Volume, Density, and Mass Today's video will help you with the lesson and the activity Watch carefully and take basic notes. |
Facts about Density
While no calculations are directly covered, a few things to think about when it comes to density, including how density will explain how much of an item floating in water will be submerged in water. |
9.4 Team Norms
As part of our automata project, you'll be creating team norms. While A perfect google team takes time to establish, think about effective team policies you have had in other classes our outside of the school. |
